Mission: Ubuntu

Who we are

Nation Ubuntu School is a community-rooted learning centre inside the Dzaleka refugee camp in Dowa, Malawi. We were founded on the principle that every child — regardless of legal status, language or background — deserves access to structured, safe, high-quality education alongside the host community.

A bilingual school

Preschool, primary and secondary streams run on the official Malawi curriculum with French and English support for refugee learners.

Ubuntu in practice

Classrooms, housekeeping rosters, food distribution and media labs are run together by refugees, Malawian teachers and international volunteers.

Fraternity Without Borders

We partner with the Fraternity Without Borders network to bring international Caravanas of educators and supplies to Dzaleka every term.

What we do

Six day-to-day programmes keep our school running. Every one of them has its own workspace inside the portal so families, students, teachers and partners can stay informed.

Student Registration

Online admission requests. Each application gets a unique reference code (NUS-APP-YYYY-NNNN) the committee can verify.

Certificates & Reports

Verify the authenticity of Preschool, Primary and Secondary certificates and download official transcripts.

Caravana for School

Coordination hub for visiting volunteer groups and material donations heading to Dzaleka.

Contact & Safety

Whistle-blowing and safety reports go directly to the safeguarding committee with full encryption.

Management

Live store entries and exits (with auto-inventory), food distribution, bakery sales, and media-equipment tracking.

Academics

Shift rosters, class lists, teacher & assistant assignments, housekeeping departments, and per-class attendance.
